Hi
anyone out there remember a tipper company called Male and Son (Pensnett)
they had quite a large fleet of tippers operating out of a yard just off Pensnett high st,
near Kingswinford . was quite a large company with extensive workshops (now sadly derelict)
They ran a varied fleet , red and black in colour mainly delivering sand from the Stewpony pit and others.
I drove for them for a while in the early 90’s delivering top soil from FG Davis’s quarry to the “waterside” at Merry Hill. most of the trucks were well past there sell by date and breakdowns a daily occurence , in fact Males had 2 wreckers on the road most of the time !. I was so fed up with continually breaking down that i left . I believe they stopped trading around 2003 . Jack Male passed away recently.
Thats how to photograph a marathon
