Malcolms pay ■■■■■■■ very little

Montgomerys make you use your own phone and don’t pay expenses

Keep your road sweeping job…

You’d think in this day and age that would be a thing that these big companies can afford for what? 3-5 phone calls a day? Majority coming from office to you. ■■■■ take. :smiling_imp:

Both pay peanuts and expect maximum hours…

About eight years ago I done three months working at Crick with an Agency doing work sometimes with Malcolms.
The drivers were mostly Polish and the trucks total junk.
I was given a truck with a completely bald tyre, often at a start of a shift I would be returning the keys and requesting another truck.
The agency even warned me the trucks are junk before sending me there.
They would have there moneys worth out of you flying around.
It is hard to believe but the trailers did not have internal straps but had tatty bits of rope hanging down.
I got the impression the drivers did not get good pay.
I would look elsewhere if I was you.

I guess like most places it depends on where the depot is…
Montgomerys trucks i have driven have all been pretty new,

… and they all had phones built in. Also it’s 2016 and i have a phone with unlimited minutes, so i only use this as my phone links to the bluetooth headunti on the Mercs.

Yet you probably still have to pay £■■’s a month to have that phone, therefore it wasn’t free, so why should an employer use it for free?

I’d suggest that the OP switches off his phone when he goes for the interview and deny owning a mobile

ITS YOUR PHONE …

YOU PAY THE BILL NOT THEM…

I TOLD THEM I DID NOT HAVE A MOBILE PHONE AND WAS TOLD THAT YOU ARE NO GOOD TO US WITHOUT ONE…

Malcolms do alot of glass work, which has to be strapped through the pallets.
When a forklift takes a double lift off…the ropes pull through.

I worked at Montgomery last month on nights I lasted 2weeks they have got cab phones but for some reason some Irishman kept ringing my mobile every hour through the night only ever answered it once then just ignored it.come out with £400 for 5 10 hour shifts got told off other drivers don’t go over your 10 hours on nights because they won’t pay overtime.
