Making Drama out of a Crisis

Do you remember that saying?,
Making a Drama out of a Crisis,

Is it me? or do you have opinions on this?
They keep on about cutbacks, reducing police numbers to save money etc… etc…

Sunday afternoon, going up the M6, just before the split for the toll, 4 car pile up southbound, Road closed - fair enough, all on the hard shoulder, just clearing up,

But - 8 plod cars & 2 Battenbergs ■■?
3 wombles picking up a bumper & sweeping the debris away - 10 + plod
sitting in their cars & standing around talking,

Is this overkill or what■■? - How many houses were being burgled whilst they were all there, sitting on the hard shoulder with lights flashing??

And, as I was proceeding up the M6, there were another 2 plod cars racing towards the scene.

lol, reminds me of a story I once read where somebody made a call to the police saying there was a bomb planted under a squad car. Over the next couple of hours several bank robberies too place in that town while the police were busy searching their cars.

or reminds you of the little old lady called 999 worried may have a prowler on the premises. 999 operator says sorry will be 2 hours as we have no units nearby. little old lady calls back 10 minutes later saying i have just shot an intuder on my land. within seconds blues and twos from everywhere converge on old ladies house, she opens the door to armed officers with a tray of tea and biscuits. The senior officer asks where is the body, old lady says what body. senior officer says you have called to report shooting an intuder yu are lying, she replies i thought there were no units in the area are you lying too!!!

I heard about a similar one to this, Jo Public called plod to say he’d been burgled, plod said nobody available for a couple of days, Jo Public said "never mind, they aren’t going anywhere in a hurry, as I’ve shot them. 3 armed plod cars turn up within a few minutes, asking where the scally is, then said they were going to to nick Joe Public for 'Wasting police time

Its possible there was a pursuit involving some of the police cars which ultimately led to the crash. Other police would have to attend as those involved couldn’t investigate themselves.

Has anyone ever actually been done for “wasting police time”?

May be there was a doughnut van gone down the banking !
