I recently passed my class 1 and got straight on with a company, to cut a long story short I walked out, had a really crap week so walked off the job, got a snotty letter of the tm saying he did not appreciate me just walking off the job! Two weeks on I’m now realising what a ■■■■ up I made walking off, I should of gone to the tm and explained and see what we come up with. Now everywhere I try is either not taking on, or won’t take me on with no experience! So a lesson to all newbies, if it gets tough, talk about it, think about it and don’t make snap decisions like me!
Sound advice. Pete
Give it a few months and try again. They will have forgotten you by then!

Nowt to lose! Many moons ago I had a similar experience, can’t remember what started me off but the TM was a horrible ■■■■ and we didn’t see eye to eye so one morning I kicked the job into touch and went home. As far as I was concerned I was finished with it which was a shame as I liked the job. A couple of days later I got a letter from the TM. I fully expected it to say you’re sacked etc, etc but to my surprise it was a very nice letter saying something like he was sorry blah, blah and maybe I could give him a call and speak to him. Well I thought if he’s man enough to write to me like that then it would be churlish to ignore him. We kissed and made up but he was still a ■■■■■■■ ■■■■■
Depends why you walked off , what was so bad that you could not talk about it first ?

it was my first week on my own, my second 15 hour shift in a row, I’d battled through two lots of near horizontal snow stuck on m62 in the snow was late all day so getting grief from my planner, drove my second lot of 10 hour driving got in yard at 6 then they wanted me in at 3 the next morning I was exhausted so I thought sod it, give them the keys and said don’t ring me I’ll ring you. End of story! Now I regret it, should of spoken to tm see if I could change shifts or something, instead just walked out!
Go down do a bit of appologising just say pressure got to you and wont happen again see what he says never know unless you try what you got to lose ?
