Hi guys
am taking my National CPC exam on Friday and have a question about maintenance schedules. Have been told that a maintenance schedule should be:
Daily walkround
Weekly Inspection
Monthly Inspection
Manufacturers recommended Maintenance intervals
Annual inspection VOSA
Have been reading VOSA’s Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness
and it doesn’t stipulate weekly or monthly inspections, I presume it depends on the mileage done in a certain time. The guide has a graph which recommends, depending on load, a 6 week inspection interval, presuming that the daily walkround would pick up any defects.
Would love your comments as pretty sure this will be a question on Friday as the examiners have included the graph in the case study
Cheers Mick
it all depends on the conditicions you work in , a class one night trunk is a world away from a eight legger tipper but you both have a duty of care to maintain you vehicles in a safe and legal manner hopr this helps if not pm me
