It’s not a question of speed, it’s a question of being able to stop such a big vehicle.

- They asked him to move to the place more suitable for changing wheels

That’s not quite true though is it. If I were a bandit with big enough knives to ■■■■■ three trailer tyres as soon as he started driving off at 5 miles per hour I would have just smashed his window and dragged him out. If it was a hijack then they look like they meant business.
As it happens I just think that explanation is quite ridiculous. I don’t care where he’s from and to be honest I’m not really bothered what the explanation actually was, I just think the ‘escaping thieves’ one a bit comical.

Well, this is what English language lacks for me, there is no difference between you singular and you plurar.

Well, he could be driving quicker before the wheels get so bad. Anyway, I am just telling what I heard somewhere else, I can’t find that either here or on wagaciezka.com, if I recall when I was reading the story, I promise to give you a link.
Btw: I never drove an artic, but somewhere between this hundreds of police pursuit movies there was one about truck running away from the police, and he was also driving on rims only, and it was quite fast.
So to sum up: I don’t know what’s the story behind this movie, but for me “he was trying to get away from attempted robbery” sounds better than “he is an idiot, because he is Eastern European” (or He is an idiot, because he is Austrian (or Welsh, or French, or Spanish for that matter)).
