I have the misfortune to be on the M62 every night for the past 6 years and I get off at jct 27 to go the M621 and get off at jct 1… for 2 months now most nights they have closed the 621 down to jct 1 so I have to go A62 but on the odd occasion that it is actually open I cant see naff all ever been done to the road.
What the hell are they doing on there as it isn’t resurfacing, the road looks the same as it has always looked. Probably closing it every night for a laugh or making out they are waiting for a skip.
It is resurfacing. They’ve done the entire stretch from M62 to Elland Rd so far. Going down the A62 hardly loses you any time at night anyway.
Like most roadworks mate, they cone it all off then sit in the van for 3-4 months drinking tea and looking at page 3 while they decide where to dig the first hole.
Luckily I only have to do this route twice a week (eastbound) around 8:15 pm. Last night I was lucky and got through as they were just putting the cones out. I don’t mind so much as getting kicked off to go on the A62, but then I have to go through Leeds then get kicked off from the A58 to go through 20 sets of traffic lights ( no joke) just to travel a mile and half that the normal journey would take me. Now that grates a little!!!

Are you on about the ones in the town centre when the tunnel is closed?

It’s not too bad going northbound. Come off at Park Lane, turn left (instead of round to the right), then first right up Clarendon Rd and keep going til you can go no further. Turn right at the lights with the uni on your right, then stay in left hand lane through 2 sets of proper lights and it’ll put you back on York Rd just before the last short tunnel (before the GATSO).
If you’re going south it’s a ■■■■■■. The diversion takes you down past the LGI and the law courts. The lights outside the law courts only let about 2 cars through at a time. If I know the tunnel is going to be shut I come off at Marsh Lane then run down past the brewery to Crown Point then round Meadow Ln/Rd and rejoin the 621 at J3.
Left hand down!:

Is that what everyone else does who is in the know? I only know one way through Leeds and just followed the diversion signs, but it can take up to 20 minutes to get though all the lights and never seem to get past 2nd gear! I think the bridge work is going on until 2016

It depends where you’re coming from and going to?
