M621 Elland Rd into Leeds - which lane do you use?

If you come off M621 at J2 Elland Rd from town end, which lane do you use at the bottom of the slip to go through the tunnel? There are no lane markings, but 2 unofficial lanes on the roundabout itself, becoming official marked lanes as you go under the M621.

As it’s a right turn, ie. 3rd exit, I approach in the right hand lane, but I swear every ■■■■■■■ time I get a bunch of cars and vans undertake me round the outside, leaving me in lane 2 at the lights under the motorway because I can’t get across to lane 1 due to these other clowns.

I’ve tried approaching in the left lane down the slip road and then turning right on the roundabout keeping to the outside, but the problem with this is that those coming out of the tunnel to go west on the M621 come round the roundabout so [zb]ing fast that you’ve no chance of getting your speed up quick enough to get round before they cross your path from the other lane; ie. it’s a recipe for disaster and eventually one will end up under the trailer doing that.

What do you fellas do? I’m seriously thinking of writing to the Highways Dept of the Leeds CC to do something about it as there’s going to be a bad crash there before too long if this carries on. :open_mouth:

If ya stay in the left lane all the way round with ya right hand indicator on till ya pass the last exit, i cant see ya havin a problem.

I take it you’ve never been through that junction at morning or evening rush hour then? :unamused:
