You will be pleased to know that the above roadworks have been completed 2 months ahead of schedule, and the average speed cameras have been switched off.
My best mate was the main man on site, and told me last night.

And they will be playing pin the donkeys tail on which part of the 62 to dig up next, as we speak

Next in line is looking like J20 (Rochdale) - M60 J8. Potentially starting late next year and lasting around 2 years.

Saying as the works have now finished, I see no reason why they would need to leave them on, (And they are signed as not in use.) but hey ho, your choice.
Ken.
They didn’t ■■■■ about like wich was decent , nightmare trying to get a run up the hill with a heavy box on and ur stuck behind cars doing 35-40 lol , I can see j20-j8 being fun lol
I came through today, no 50mph signs, so I sat on my limiter at 52

Shows how little you know about the M62 section I mentioned above.
It was originally scheduled to finish in Feb 2014, but it got mentioned in the house of commons about 2 months ago in relation to the inconvenience it was causing, and how it would inconvenience motorists over xmas etc etc.
The local MP became involved, and the works were ordered to finish before xmas at no extra cost. If you noticed, the work was going on 24/7, which for my mate was fantastic, as it was a kerching job for him with overtime.
Shame the same wasn’t said about the M1 between J39 and J42.

I didn’t think the traffic was that bad considering it’s a main route , I mean yeh sometimes were worse than others , but usually when you started climbing from brighouse upwards it didn’t seem that bad , or maybe it was just me lol
There was a 60 limit on the other day, but at least it isn’t swapping and changing like it used to do.
I do wish peple would use the correct lanes though. Find myself undertaking quite a lot. Bit worrying with no hard shoulder too.
