M62 road rage

I’ve never been one for grassing anybody up, but for knobs like him even I would consider it. What did he hope to achieve apart from possible death by ramming the anchors on in front of 44tonnes ffs.
I would have more sympathy for the o/p if he had gone over the top of him.
If it gets him off the road for 12 months, and is also a deterrent for pricks like him that’s ok by me.

At last, a professional driver with common sense… cheers.

Cheers mate, but whether that makes me a pro or not, I don’t know.
As I said I have never grassed anybody, I would never do it to a fellow trucker even to some that impersonate truckers today. :unamused:

As for him, I have boys of similar ages, if he was one of mine I would have kicked his [zb] arse, and at the end of the day who really gives a [zb] if he and his like are banned, better than it leading to their inevitable death after getting cocky by surviving the first time they do this type of thing on a Mway.
So spot on mate I say.

Worth mentioning that I have been driving class1 lgv’s for over 40 years, including a stint of driving 44t fuel tankers for Esso and Total fuels out of Avonmouth, I have been using a dashcam for the last 3 years and caught some pretty poor examples of driving on it but this is the first, and only time that I felt compelled to report an incident…during his brake test I was waiting for one of the heavies behind me to hit my rear… it was a scary moment! and I’ll never know if there were any shunts further back along the line as a result of it all.

No need to justify it mate, especially to me.
I saw an artic in France years ago with the back wheels of the unit on top of a car bonnet underneath it, the car had kids in the back not a pretty sight mate believe me.
I’m 6 ft 1, a big lad, and not looking too soft, but even I had tears in my eyes that day.

Below is a clip I sent to the police in March, driving on the M1 in a temporary 50mph limit, south yorkshire.
I had a convoy of lgv’s behind me and this idiot took me down quickly from 50mph to 22 mph simply because I flashed my lights at him for cutting in to me (he was actually closer to me than the wide angle dashcam appeared to show, as peeps who use a dashcam will understand))
The 23yr old male driver was charged with dangerous driving and in September he appeared before Rotherham magistrates, he pleaded guilty and he was banned for 12 months with an extended driving test after the ban, he was also given 80 hours unpaid word and ordered to pay court costs!!

Taken from the sheffield local ‘court roundup news’

Dangerous driving: Jason Taylor, 23, of Ivanhoe Mews, Swallownest, community order with 80 hours’ unpaid work supervised, £85 costs, 12-month driving ban.

Good job. The more of these boneheads off the road the better.
What was you carrying and did it survive?

I was empty, so no problem there

I was also obliged to report the incident for legal reasons, the eagle eyed amongst you might have noticed that on his THIRD application of brakes we touched!

For all I know this could have been a cash for crash scam, and he could have reported me for failing to stop and make a claim…who knows?

robroy:
Don’t really want to stick my neb in on your personal argument.
Are you justifying and/or sticking up for the boy braking hard in the path of an artic, and the potential outcome it could have caused. :open_mouth:
It does not matter a [zb] if it was 1 or 10 cones, or 1 yard or 200.yds mate, he was guilty of dangerous not to mention bloody stupid actions on a busy motorway, with a highly possible fatal outcome…

As I said in my first post the brake test was wrong, no argument there. But what led to the brake test; lad is trying to get off the motorway, we have established he has just passed a long convoy of HGVs, at a guess these will have all been driving stupidly close to each other, and when he finally does squeeze into one of these tiny gaps the lorry driver starts flashing his lights.

All I was saying that if the lorry driver had not been tailgating the small car there would have been sufficient space to move left without conflict. So no not defending the lad but addressing the poor driving of the lorry.

"……but addressing the poor driving of the lorry".

LOL :unamused:

I do wonder sometimes, what planet are some people on? :unamused:

Are you watching the same video as me?

show me or explain to me where you are leaving a 2 second gap before the red car cuts in. (at 50mph that is 44 metres) or show me where I am mistaken in saying the gap you are leaving is less than 1 second.

You’d give an aspirin a headache. Give the drum a rest, we heard you the first time.

And the 4th time

I’ve been in the position the car driver was in where I wasn’t sure where I wanted to leave via a slip road, but rather than pull in right in front of someone, taking away his stopping distance, I’ve gone to the next exit and found my way back. In this case though, I reckon he knew exactly where he wanted to go, saw a line of lorries and couldn’t be arsed to get in his lane early because he had to be in front. As for hitting the skids in front of anything, never mind an artic, he’s got to be a moron that needs teaching a lesson. Why do people think he’s been punished too harshly ? Is it because most people have got used to slaps on the wrist rather than a good kick up the arse so they’re deterred from doing it again ?

I’m with the op, Robroy and anyone else who thinks this muppet got what he needed.

Well said.
I’m with you.

I’m sure most of you remember that fella in van stopping in the middle lane of M62

He has been arrested.

Still would like to see the 5 minutes of footage prior to the incident. Something makes me think there might have been more to contribute to the van drivers extremely bad temper.

I’m not defending the moron on the van, but i’m always cynical that these dash cam videos online get edited down to suit one party.

Really mate, no matter what happened before hand, he could have ended up causing some other poor bugger to get killed, and what for ? just to show that he’s a right royal ****.
