This was the scene at midnight three hours after the incident began.
Enough of these attention seeking jumpers standing on bridges at strategic locations on the motorway network could bring the whole of the country to a standstill.

Well only 3 half hours to turn traffic around . And 3 highways cars to stop us sat in there cars not saying a word or informing us at the front what’s going on

And who’s the lane hogger walking down lane 2.

Not me, I’m off duty!

Still closed 11 hours later. Need a stun gun and a big airbag.

Plod were sending trucks up Georges Rd to a 10’9" bridge.

God knows what happened I was more less at front. Had 2 highways vans they just sat there never said anything. Heard was a jumper but also that a car had crashed was hanging off a bridge so God knows. All internet says is police incident. Was finally turned round about 4 hours later. As came off never seen so many highways and police . All around the 2 roundabouts. Every road was blocked off.
If was a jumper I have every sympathy for his family. But at any incident /accident. Surely after say 15 mins if motorway isn’t 're open they should deploy the highways and back the traffic .up. I mean it’s not hard to do. Divert oncoming cars off reverse trapped traffic off. Surely they need to act quicker . Instead of hmmmm let’s see have a meeting hmmmm give it another half hour another meeting. million phone calls. another meeting before they decide hours later to do what should be done asap. Or is it me being to sensible?

The would require decision making, decisive action and personal responsibility - three things anathema to a large organisation. There have to be so many meetings and layers of management to ensure that no-one can get blamed for anything, whatever action takes place becomes just “something that happened”. :unamused:
