M6 toll plaza southbound

Hi guys any one no if there are any speed cameras on the 30 mph section approaching the toll plaza southbound brother went there last week thinks he may have been going a bit fast on the approach

I’ve never noticed any/been caught and i’ve never slowed to 30mph, same as anybody else i imagine. When you come out, everybody has a ‘race driver’ head on and it’s the first to a ton in a car or the limiter in a truck

well my brother recons it wouldent have been safe to slow to 30 anyway as it was really foggy and didnt fancy being rear ended

Don’t worry there’s no cameras there.

Hiya…they,ve perhaps sold the camera,s to earn some money on the toll road, I herd they,d lost £28,000,000
last year.If it was £1 any vehical they,d soon make some profit. It should be free but that,ll never happen.

Far to expensive for a truck

I doubt it, that would be the quickest way to reduce sales even further on the toll road.

No, only time there would be cameras there is either the old bill waiting or a talivan. - At the moment anyway

WMP love to hang out on bridges over the Toll, they can just set a van up and do people all afternoon, easy. My speed cam POIs ping like crazy when I drive down it, always have my eyes peeled on the next bridge in the distance. I think they also prefer to do that because they have to pay to access the actual Toll road itself, the overbridges are usually just B roads or farm / private access which they can get to easy. (like the “secret junctions” on the M4 and a few other mways which have “Works Access Only” signs, in reality they’re primarily used by police to get onto the bridges)

The speed van doesnt sit on the M6 Toll, it often parks in Layby’s on the A38 which runs alongside the toll, at certain points they can park, overlook the toll and send out the speed tickets and court summonses, see the prosecutions in the local rag on a regular basis

least we can rely on other truckers to give us a flash specially on 38 ! i hope anyways

CMPG (Police) dont pay to use the toll, they have access to it whenever they want at no charge. They sit the scamera van on overbridges, a couple of cars or bikes sat up one of the “secret” exits which dont lead to farms, they are to allow the Emergency Servioces to access the road quickly from an A or B road, and then pull you over.
The Works Access exits are all locked to the public, its one of the few roads i know of where the locks or barriers actually work as the toll ISU’s have nothing to do so clean and maintain them.
We use them occasionally to get to incidents even though its not an HA road, we still work on it though and the traffic moves a lot quicker than the M6.

Also there are no fixed speed cameras anywhere on the Toll road so he can stop worrying.
