I remember the pumps on the s/b side at Keele still being there around 80ish.
Note the high profile Police presence (unlike today) and their Mk 2 Jags.
Again early 80s Staffs motorway patrol were still using Jags, but modern for that time XJ 6s.

O.K. southbound past Keele, but northbound dropping 3 or 4 gears and still lucky to get up keele bank at 25 mph. If I remember the m6 ended/started at the next junction at that hairpin bend into Stoke.
