M6 south wide load today

red7jase:
Mine is the top end of the limiter, not many pass me  , it took me over 5 minutes to get past there was loads of cars behind me. I think the convoy needed to lower a few clicks so the wagons spent less time in lane 3 holding up cars.

I know some will say [zb] the cars :grimacing:

Im more a spectator in these situations, sit back relax and join the convoy, (hanging back a lot obviously) im also at the higher end of the limiter spectrum but choose not to use it where my gain is negligable compared to the negative affect it has on other much faster traffic.

Not that your not entitled to overtake if you want to just if it took you almost 5 miles to acclomplish then the gain is minimum.

No one will say ■■■■ the cars this is a pro driver forum where certain standards are expected.

Course if the road was clear and I went for the overtake it wouldnt take me 5 minutes due to a skilled use of gradients and assesing the convoys vunerability for an overtake based on their weight / lead vehicle speed.

5 minutes I cant get over this, have you just passed, I bet they had to slow down for you in the end, their CB airwaves full of chatter about the muppet in outside lane

I wouldn’t care what category it was Nick or whether he was exceeding his speed or not, it’s not my job to police that sort of thing, but if I thought it was going to take many miles to complete the overtake then I wouldn’t bother starting it in the first place.

After all this is Britain so you can be sure that there’ll be a hill, traffic jam, or set of roadworks along in a minute to make the overtake moot anyway.

I was just saying mate.
The one thing that really gets my goat is the flashy yellow light brigade that sit bang on 54 so you’ve got no chance of passing them in the night killing your night vision.
Much like plod that lights up the road for miles and miles as they toe it at 100 + , I don’t get why their blue and reds need to be sooooooooooo bright whilst their moving, it would be great if they were dim dipped till they stopped

Just drop back, if you lose 30 seconds it’ll be gone. It’s like the côonts that make you creep by for miles. I just ease off and let them past. Worked it out one day that by letting them by I lost something like half a second!
