I’d say the m62, Runcorn is pain in backside since the new bridge started getting built. All the roads are being changed to accommodate, so all sorts of closures and diversions

The Runcorn bridge can get busy sometimes, but there isn’t a great deal (distance or time) in either route imo the truck route maybe less road changes ,but…
M62, any day, any time, any vehicle.

The time you’re going the bridge will be fine
Bridge won’t be so bad that time of day, bottom of the 557 to join the 56 is bad all day but you’re going the other way.
Although yes, fewer surprises on the 62.
Edit to say deffo the 62 if you’re heading south on the 6 and coming from Preston?
if you are travelling south from Junction 27 M6, I would go M58 onto M57 onto the A road straight into Liverpool airport.

I came in over the bridge not going back over it queue to get back on 56 as stated. Can’t get in till 3.15 so sat at the side of road somewhere near.
