Brother has just driven past Northbound and said a vehicle was on fire, wedged into central reservation and at least another five cars with damage. 3 fire engines, 3 ambulances, and about 15 police cars on scene. 3 recovery trucks on scene also.
About 4 miles of tailbacks on approach to Cathorpe Interchange.
Probably best to avoid if possible folks!!

I checked the HA website while I was on the phone to him and he nearly urinated himself laughing. It only says about the fire as well, and not the other carnage.

I’ll be up there around midnight… Those ruts in the nb M1 just before the m6 slip are a bit of a joke though eh?
On the M6 southbound between junctions J4 and J1, there are currently delays of 40 mins caused by congestion
due to a vehicle on fire closing one lane between junction J1 and the M1
. Normal traffic conditions expected from 6:30 pm.
