weeto:
Two men from the other HGV, aged 39 and 42, have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and having an insecure load and have been taken into custody for questioning.
So was it something that fell off the wagon that caused the accident , insecure loading is pretty much a rife daily occurance not just from trucks but vans & cars as well.
It’s Black as a bag down that neck of the woods, Seen a messed up transit van down there one night when it hit the pulley block off a crane that fell off and landed in lane 3
The trailer of the one on the back, which was secured with web ratchet straps, broke free and landed in the carriageway unfortunately the Tuffnells vehicle following behind hit it resulting in the cab shearing off completely and landing windscreen down in the carriageway.
You now know why it was that both the De Rooy drivers were arrested.
The Tuffnells driver is in hospital with multiple serious injuries.
Well that explains alot, poor sod wasn’t expecting to meet that, lets hope the driver comes out of it all ok.
You could sling alot of mud around about blame & incorrect practises or whatever, but at the end of the day stuff like this happens, it shouldn’t happen, but it does. The more time you spend on the roads the more you gonna see these type of incidents, I’ve seen my fair share over the years, as have most of us. You just got to keep your wits about you, expect the unexpected & hope for the best & like me, stuck behind that incident for 3 1/2 hours, think yourself lucky it wasn’t yourself involved.

Most definitely! I missed a diversion turning on the M56 a while before & so was on the M6 later than planned. If I hadn’t… anyway, I pity the driver, and anyone who saw it all. Counted my blessings for sure.
robroy:
I came off at Lymm and went down the A50, didn’t know there was now a weight limit through Holmes Chapel, how long has that been there?
