There is damage to the road from fuel and bridge and embankment repairs.
A lorry has gone down the embankment.

I’m on a rest day (Sunday) mate rang for route advice coming from the south m5.
Told him m5 M42 Jn 10 follow A5 back on to m6 took him 20mins longer but he said it was clear all the way. He rang me on his way back and said it looked really bad with the truck a fair way down the embankment but south bound traffic was fine no hold ups
I past it heading southbound moments after it happened no emergency services on scene. Looked pretty bad.
On way back north from M5 I headed south to M6 J7 then anti clockwise around Walsall ring road and you A34 never hit any traffic.
According to the Highways website, open at 07.00 am today .

Matrix signs on the M5 reported it open just before 5.30am. Quite handy as i went through there just after 6. no sign of the accident, but overhead signs were still saying 2 outside lanes closed. Everybody was hitting the brakes and moving left… clear motorway.i wonder if they’ve switched them off yet …
