Does anybody know why the M6 southbound, between junction 8 & 7 has a lane closed? It’s been like that for about 2 weeks now. I know that they are working on hard shoulder running. But there is no one working on that section. However when you reach junction 7 the road open to 3 narrow lanes. It’s causing some right jams around that area.
It’s looking like it’s on for the longterm that bit i think it’s widening the road. Annoyingly more average speed cameras have been set up. 
4 lanes and active speed management is going in from jct 6 to 10.

And then they are doing from 10 to 12 the same. over 2 years of delays on that stretch of road

and they close it off completly overnight to do the bulk of the work.
