M6 junction set to close this weekend

The Highway England team tweeted: “We’re closing the M6 at Junction 10 this Friday for the weekend. The closure will take place at 8pm Friday, July 2 to 6am Monday, July 5. Expect long delays and avoid the area is possible. Plan ahead and leave extra time for your journey.”

The junction is being closed while construction crews place giant beams to help form two new bridges over the motorway.

Not much of a Diversion but will be very busy.

A good idea…

Would be to drop the tolls on the M6 relief road for the weekend.

But I’ve more chance of meeting Scarlett Johansson in Greggs at Ferrybridge services than that happening.

I know what you mean…, it’s Greggs at Knutstford where she’s a regular.

Have seen this morning that it isn’t happening…… beams won’t be delivered in time or something

You could in fact have met the lovely Scarlett Johansson when they filmed Under the skin ,in the scene where she drives around in a van to entice victims, the random strangers off the street were not actors and had no idea they were sat in a van with a Hollywood A lister wearing a wig .

M6 junction 10 - Works Postponed
Planned work to lift 44m-long steel bridge beams into place creating a new bridge at junction 10 of the M6 this weekend have been postponed.

Unforeseen changes to the planned delivery route means that the bridge beam lift cannot go ahead this weekend.

The safety of our workers and road users is imperative and we hope to reschedule these works for a later date. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

I am guessing the beams are coming a distance. And going via another motorway that’s closed overnight or weekends for smart motoways.
All.good planning as ever by the council
