M6 Junction 15,Stoke on Trent exit

Have you not noticed that this section is mentioned everyday on traffic bulletins on the radio, the slip roads on the south and north bound are too short to exit safely,or there is something else wrong with the road there, always accidents or something going on there.

Normally the problem is a vehicle taking the bends too fast Not the lenght of the slips

hiya god knows who designed that juction, there’s no words to exlpane the idiot.years ago when the
Bassetts lads was getting on the m6 nothbound it was a nightmare. they’d come ploding round that bend
with a 60ft trailer(longer than the sliproad)with a atkinson or foden(150 gardner)carring 60ft steel girders,
coud’nt corner to fast, then drop onto the slow lane doing about 40mph,at that point we had lorries comeing
down that bank doing 60 eleven mph. what a nightmare!!!it was a know thing so drivers was aware of that
nightmare…if only the designer had made the sliproads 200yds longer it would have made much more sence.
only been drivers who are we to complane, or know better.
John

The northbound slip road was extended about 12 to 18 months ago its much longer than a lot of other slips now.

There are lots of sliproads that make you wonder WHY? often there’ll be an answer, even if it’s just that the planners pencil slipped…
If you have time to kill, have a look at this website; http://www.pathetic.org.uk/ it should keep you entertained for an hour or so.
