M6 J27 shut Jan 23rd - truck cab vs bridge

Not trying to start another CSI thread, but just came across this from the Fire Brigade commander at the scene of a nasty looking M6 J27 accident today with car vs truck vs bridge support.

Seen plenty of ways trucks don’t agree with road furniture, but never thought about those bridge supports where the barrier is right next to the stonework. Absolutely no impact zone.

As both seem to have escaped serious injury, I’d say they qualify as pretty lucky in the grand scheme. Especially looking at the passenger side of the cab. A few feet back and it could have been a different story.

Sorry its on Twitter, but only other ref was one of those stupid sites that bombards you with ads then links to Twitter.

Fantastic photographs and two very lucky drivers. Well Done to Ady Taylor Station Manager.

Good advert for BMWs, that held up well to having a truck on it. And trailer looks brand new. Great that everyone got out ok. That’s all that ever really matters
