No it is not a dangerous job scally…but a lot of the drivers drive dangerously1 Get your facts correct please.

Erm sorry It Is one of the most dangerous jobs top ten in fact so if you want to argue about look up the facts first!

It can be a dangerous job because there are people out there who drive dangerously. You both happy now?

I’d rather take my chances driving a wagon than wiping drivers ■■■ out of the shower cubicles on the services. . . !

I can think of many far more dangerous jobs. There is a degree of danger to anything you do but most drivers die of their own human error or another drivers human error.
That does not make the job dangerous in my book just the drivers.

I think we could split hairs all day. The point scally was trying to make, as I see it, is that the job has more potential for danger than, say, working in a bookshop or a call centre. However safe you personally drive, you can never really allow for the fact that one day someone in another lorry might come bouncing through the central reservation and into your cab. I don’t see much need to turn this into a twelve page argument about the exact definition of “dangerous” …

working in a bookshop is dangerous too.You could easily die of boredom.

Its like describing a particular road as “dangerous”. In all my 70+ years, I have never seen a road do anything dangerous. They mostly just lie there getting run over!

Think of all those paper cuts.

Ah yes, because books are boring; all those words and knowledge and that.

Tell me again, why do you drive a lorry? :unamused:

I’m sure his comment was firmly tongue and cheek,he probably drives a lorry for the same reason that you do,for the money. :unamused:
