m6 crash

Dafman:
I was just trying to make the idiots out there sit up and think

You’ve got more chance of platting fog.

A momentary lapse in concentration perhaps?..there but for the grace of god.

If there’s one driver on here who hasn’t looked away from the road in front, if only for a split second, and then had a quick panic about something in front of them I’d be very surprised.

Just very sad that 2 lads have died.

Your not wrong there.

How sad to see two more fatalities. They seem to more frequent than ever these days and it seems that a lot involve multiple vehicles.
Nobody can speculate on what causes these accidents but nine times out of ten it is proved to be human error.
When you see how close vehicles travel to each other on motorways (cars and lorries) it is not surprising when something unexpected happens that several vehicles are involved and unfortunately serious injuries and fatalities occur.
When will people start to realise that if they do not drive safely they could well be the next statistic.
There are no excuses for not driving safely.Get too close and anything can happen very quickly.

I wonder how many of the Crash Investigators on here will preach about driving safely, post an R.I.P then tear arse about tomorrow morning, cursing the lorry driver infront because he’s “hanging the job out” doing 40mph?

But how many times are you driving, keeping a safe distance and some bloody stupid ****wit will veer in right into your braking distance and either brake hard, or then abuse you for suddenly being too close? It happens, especially near motorway junctions.

Theyve just shown the pics of the 2 lads on Granada Reports bulletin. What you don’t see on that photo is the fact that it was apparantly an 8 vehicle pile up. The news said one woman is seriously ill in hospital after she had to be cut free from her car which was crushed between 2 lorries.

saw this on the local news tonight. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
it looks like the spar truck drove into standing traffic, firstly hitting a car then shunting that car into the blue truck and then that truck into other vehicles,8 vehicles where involed altogether.

it’s fairly obvious whats happened and i cant understand why there are people on here are trying to defend the driver by making excuses about why he ran into the back of standing traffic and killing someone!

I know there will have to be an investigation but it looks preety straight forward to me and others.

“it’s fairly obvious whats happened and i cant understand why there are people on here are trying to defend the driver by making excuses about why he ran into the back of standing traffic and killing someone!”

Glad that’s sorted then. “Hey, don’t bother with an investigation to a tragic accident, just show me a photo & I’ll clear it up”
Sorry mate, but you’re a ■■■■■■■■ saying something like that!

That’s how it’s done on TruckNet; no need for a lengthy investigation, witness statements, post mortems etc. TTX boy has got this one cracked. :unamused:

speed limiters :open_mouth: all bunched up! :unamused: and car drivers saving fuel :open_mouth: going slower = carnage :unamused:

The HSS truck was stationary. Handbrake on. He was hit from behind and shunted into the
Moffett.

Shame we haven’t been officially told about it yet.

I was in a shunt last summer. Horrible experience. Made me paranoid now on the road.
I keep my distance, I hate other drivers thinking they are so great and pull in before you give a chance to flash them when you feel safe with their distance.

Rip drivers

RIP very sad to see

Goose sums up some of these “accidents” as well.
The defense department regrets to inform you that your sons are dead because they were stupid.

Do they make the full investigation public once it’s concluded?? The reason I ask is because reports just don’t add up or they are not clear anyway. If the women in the Peugeot 307 was indeed between the lorries stationary then how on earth has she only suffered whiplash?? It was obviously enough force to kill the driver in front so that car supposedly took all the initial impact?? I think not.

From my limited experience, when you leave a safe gap, some daft git (for the want of a useable word) who was doing 60 in their Hyundai i10 or whatever, decides to chuck it into said safe gap, then brakes down to 50!

That’s one reason safe gaps don’t get used, we’d spend more time backing off than accelerating, and never get anywhere!

As has been said above, risks get taken, that’s life, not just trucking, just extremely sad that 2 fellas that got up on Monday to go to work, the same as you and me, didn’t make it home.

Let he who is without sin…

Why because folk are doing 40 because their number one priority is road safety? Away and hide

I’ve often wondered about the follow up investigation after these tragic events. Sometimes you see the results published in the news such as the M5 fog/firework display crash, but usually it doesn’t get a mention.

As to the lady surviving in the 307, once an accident happens it’s a case of roll the dice and see. You read stories of people walking away unharmed from 100mph crashes and people loosing their life in a 30 mph crash.

You only really hear in the press about a investigation result to a accident if someone has been prosecuted ie, the court case.

Not sure if they are made public or just not reported in the media.
