This has an element of Chinese whispers about it as i got it 3rd hand but the story goes like this…
Guy gets flashed over in a tipper as it’s obvious something is wrong and he pulls over… He see’s that his load of some kind of coal product is on Fire… Dilemma time…
Driver decides that the best course of action for his own safety and his lorry’s safety is to tip the “flaming” load on the M6!!!
Cue 26 tonnes of burning coal on the hard shoulder!!!
I hope this is true although i rather imagine a bit of a story alongthe way!!!
