M6 Accident J38 2.00am

Sat in a queue for almost three hours this morning just past Tebay services Southbound.
Eventually started moving and passed what looked like a fridge trailer with unit still attached on its side in the roadworks just before the truckstop junction.
Hope the driver is ok.
Earlier this evening I saw a Volvo unit down the embankment on the Southbound M6 inbetween the M55 and the Garstang junction.
Accidents, bit like buses, you don’t see one for days then two turn up on the same night

I passed it heading north at the back of 2 looked like it was lying across all 3 lanes. I thought I was having a bad night till I seen it. Hope the guys ok

Yes that’s right, the traffic was diverted onto the hard shoulder and off the motorway, up to the roundabout and back on the Southbound entrance (over the cattle grid)
I couldn’t see any other vehicle involved but they may have been removed.

I don’t think there was any other vehicles I never seen 1 and the highways agency and police came blasting past me at button on Kendal services so i think it hadn’t long happened.

Shut at 16 to 15 as well at the moment isn’t it due to an accident.

Be easier to shove all the trucks onto trains at this rate just to try and keep them moving

Hope the driver’s ok, sounds like a properl accident & not the usual ‘Roundabout “■■■■” Rollover’

"An overturned HGV is expected to cause major disruption on the M6
throughout today, Friday 20th September 2013.
The artic is blocking all Southbound lanes of the motorway at Junction 38 Tebay.
The HGV was the only vehicle involved in the accident at 0200.
The driver, a 50-year-old from Hamilton, was taken to the ■■■■■■■■■■
Infirmary, Carlisle, with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Due to the size and nature of the load - refrigerated goods which have
spilled across the road - the vehicle cannot be moved until the load has
been removed. This is expected to take some time and will result in
significant delays all day for Southbound M6 vehicles.
All vehicles heading South are being diverted off the motorway at
Junction 38 and rejoin at the other side of the same Junction.
Motorists should avoid the area and seek alternative routes."

There is no truth in reports that cut price Lasagne and Shepherd’s Pie
is now available in the local Police canteen.

Just sit there and watch Nobby.

Moaster, hav’nt they fixed your wagon yet ?

M6 S/B closed at jcn 39. Diversion off M6 onto a cracking little B road and through the twee little village of Orton. Back onto M6 at Tebay svcs. This was at 15-30 and the staff at Tebay truckstop said a second artic had crashed into the earlier one. Queuing traffic was trapped between jcn 38 & 39. Hope all those involved are safe.

drove through the tail end of this today and couldnt believe my eyes as there on the central reservation between lane three and the barrier was some numb nut changing his wheel !
all lanes open and traffic flowing at a good 50mph

Went though there this morning at 2.10 not a soul about just some skid marks (ooh err missus)
See they’ve shut the M74 Northbound a J10 8 till 6 every night till Monday.

Yeah Martin it’s done now. They replaced the mirror as soon as I got back to the yard and fitted a new grille at the weekend. It’ll probably be broken when I get back from my three days at the Munich beerfest though!
