Won’t make any difference if they did. The problem is you have the m 56 and m62 all joing the m6 In a short space. Plus also traffic leaving the to join m56 m62. To many main junctions so close together.
Just look at the m60 I live and drive up down there most days. Made that a smart motorway . Over barton bridge to many junctions merging In a short space. All.works finished and seems to made it worse . And why on the anti.clock wise side they have taken it down 2 lanes around j12 god knows.
Traffics worse nonw then when it was 50mph and being built.
Adding more lanes won’t solve it .Just means more lanes for drivers to cut to front of then stop hoping to be let over at the last min
