M56 This morning

It took me 3hrs 40mins to get from Manor Park Runcorn to Stockport this morning :open_mouth: Anyone else had a longer short journey

heard it was quite bad up there this morning

i went from manc to widnes, the m62 was hardly moving from the m602/m60 turnoff to warrington j8/7 :open_mouth: they recon it rained on iced roads, and caused over 50 crashed in the area :open_mouth: then some daredevil lorry driver turned his lorry over on m62/m6 slip… :unamused: i was hearing it was taking over 2 hours from runcorn to bowden

Glad we dont go that far North mate.I heard it was a nightmare up there :open_mouth:

It took me 5 and half hours to get from Aintree to Crick paid by the hour driven to dispear lol

22hrs to get from East Kilbride to Glasgow last monday. Although a daily rest was taken in there somewhere.

Got caught on the Croft interchange today. An hour to get from Warrington to Thelwall.

I’ve had a bloody week of it i tells ya!

It took me 3hrs from Mcburneys Liverpool to Newton Heath Manchester the first i noticed was when i left Iceland Warrington and the traffic stopped on the east side of the 62 as i got on it going west just thought it was a accident then it came on the radio. but was not icy on my side.

it once took me six hours to get from blackheath to rowley regis, a distance of roughly 3miles! It rained, then snowed, then turned to ice!

After a week like this I vote tomorrow night serious beer drinking night (for those not working)

2 hours 30 minutes from Runcorn to Heywood, then got sent to Alcester, then back to Widnes, in total thanks to traffic 9 hours driving…

Been a crap week on the roads, back on the rails next week, no centre lane owners club there lol.

A full day on the bins in Carlisle…18km in 7.5hrs behind the wheel.
Mind you, credit the 2 young loaders who sweated their ■■■■ off all day while I sat crying my eyes out. :sunglasses:

i tipped in wincanton midlewich and it was -9…by the time i had got to chester 1 hr later it was + 2.5 and started spitting, the roads were bad round middlewich without the rain.it must of been the same up on the m56/6

I used to hate going into Christian Salvesen at Rowley in the snow. The only way in or out is up or down some pretty steep hills. Took me many hours to get home a few years back and I only live about 5 mile away. Powke lane was a waste of time as was turning left out the yard. I had to go a few mile out my way just to get away from the place.

I suppose I’ll have to, solidarity to my brother lorry drivers and all that

terry t, was that the night the police closed powke lane because it was too dangerous, but doulton rd was still open even though it was steeper and more dangerous? I used to work at cs doing multidrop round brum in an 18tonner.
Regards Dale.

To be honest, I’ve been lucky as hell + had help from my sat nav.

I have a Tomtom 540 Live with the truck maps on it, and it knows about traffic, road works and closed roads and diverts me round whilst still taking into account the truck size.

I’ve occasionally wondered ‘why’s it taking me this way?’, then heard on radio that the M4 is bolloxed or the M62 is a car park and thought, thank you mr Tomtom…

I wasn’t planning on renewing the Live services when it’s due because of the cost, but I think I will do now I’m used to it.

That’s right. Salvesen trucks are not allowed to turn left out their yard anyway because it’s so steep yet the road was still open. I think it’s because Powke lane is a lot busier that the police took more interest in it.
