M5 shut j19 to j20 southbound

Due to another Hgv crash in the middle of the night involving multiple vehicles, these are always around the witching hour as they call it .

Jesus ■■■■■■■ wept…
What is going on on that stretch between 14 and 19?

.

I drive up and down the M5 in the car between Almondsbury interchange and Cheltenham quite often. I always seem to be in the way of other traffic
so I did an impromptu survey the other evening at 7.00pm when traffic was quite light. I drove at a constant 70 mph and during the 30 minute journey
I overtook seven lorries, six cars, two vans, and a camper van.
I was overtaken by 98 vehicles. When driving lorries along there years ago before limiters I always used to look back up a slip road in the mirror to see if plod was parked up there but the motorway seems to be lawless today.

Yep looks pretty blocked to me, hope all involved are ok .bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-engla … l-41470151

Not delivering winners today then…

Must be a couple of strippers at the side of the road, cant possibly be because of speed and driving too close could it ■■

These nightime accidents are on the increase clearly.

So, is it Elephant racing, is it tailgating, is it driver fatigue and excessive demands on drivers and changing shift patterns perhaps?

It makes me laugh that they close the motorway at Avonmouth it must be really annoying for folks who want to get on just to go the short distance to Portishead .

3 aparently. Depends how they have to be moved low loader etc only so much can be moved at a time unless you’ve got a spare heavy wrecker or 2 sitting about doing nothing :unamused:
Thought not

Theres enough heavy wreckers around the area. Its still excesive amount of time. No other country drags its heels so much over opening roads again. Fair enough if fatal, but its not.

true,but so nicely cruel…

Why is there always a large parcel company involved in accidents not saying its there fault. They seem to get caught up in alot of them in recent times.

So you know for a fact that the staff and vehicles are just sitting doing nothing just waiting for a job. Dream on

Oh local tv news states it’ll be a few hours yet due to the chemical spill but then m_att will offer up some useful advice that there’s plenty of people that can do the job :unamused:

Truck speeds have already been dumbed down to less than 60 mph so how much slower do they need to go on a ‘motorway’.

As for the strippers. :open_mouth: Probably more likely to be something unexpectedly stopped or crawling ahead and train driver type mindset combined with dipped headlights approaching from behind. :bulb:
