HA site says closed north and south between 22 and 23. not expected to open till 1300.
The M5 motorway at Burnham-On-Sea is closed this morning (Thursday) in both directions following a serious accident between junction 22 at Burnham and junction 23 at Bridgwater.
Emergency services were called to a crash involving three vehicles shortly after 6am.
One person has died in the accident, say reports from the scene. The incident involves three vehicles, including a heavy goods vehicle and a commercial van.
Both carriageways of the motorway have been closed while emergency crews deal with the incident and the M5 is expected to remain closed for several hours.
Long delays are reported in Highbridge and East Huntspill as motorists seek alternative routes.

I went through the first accident on my down to Devon, must’ve just happened as no emergency services were near it. First one looked nasty enough with car on its side facing wrong way on central reservation. Didn’t stop as several people were already on the scene.
Got caught in the traffic on the return leg, and that looked nasty too even though they were some way through the clean up.
