Not quite correct it’s a fowler welch trl,any number of their subbies could of been pulling it too.

Looks like a fowler welch unit and a BUS from stagecoach. just above the drivers cab you can see the stagecoach emblem and name

Your correct it is a f/w unit.

Hope the guy/girl is ok.

if that coach was on the hard shoulder how come it looks like the truck has hit the rear nearside yet another tragic accident rip

reported on classic fm that the coach broke down in the roadworks

R.I.P to the deceased and a speedy recovery to the injured.

Reading the news reports they are saying that the coach was hit in the rear by the truck. Now what really gets my goat is automatically people presume that the truck hit the coach and therefore its the truck drivers fault. If you look at the pics its obvious the coach was overtaking the truck SO the Coach Driver was going faster than the truck driver and this was apparantly in FOG. Looking at the pics and the fact that it was foggy is it not possible that the coach driver may have thought he was passed the truck and started to pull back into lane 1 ? IF thats the case then its the coach driver at fault and not the truck driver.
I am getting sick and tired everytime there is an RTC involving trucks that 1, it has to be emphasised a truck is involved, when there is an RTC between cars they never say two cars have been involved but always when there is a truck, 2 people always presume the truck driver is at fault, both the news channels and the traffic reporters should take an unbiased account of the details until any investigation has taken place. Rant over

just on the news…the coach had broken down in lane 1 and was hit by the truck which pushed it into the central barrier.

From what I’ve seen of the pictures, I’d say its fairly obvious thats not what was happening at point of impact, the truck has hit the coach whilst travelling faster than said coach, not the usual scenario in an overtake situation imo.

R.I.P. :frowning:

Sad though it is when vehicles breakdown they don’t just stop in ther tracks, they still role so he should have been on the hard shoulder. It seems he was broken down in the fast lane so I would say without doubt it was the fault of the bus driver

news said coach broke down in lane 1 in roadworks?maybe no hard shoulder?

Not very helpfull comments there.

Quite often there is no time to move to a “safer” location. The fog was reported to be bad in the area which would have made it worse. It was in roadworks as well, so often there is a lack of hard shoulder in these cases.

Not been that way for a while so not too sure what the setup is through the roadworks, but if it was just cones you would of thought the driver of the coach would of just rolled through the cones and got out of the way! Destroy a few cones or be a sitting duck on the motorway?! Baffles me at the moment as to why he has seemed to of come to a stop in the outside lane!

Alas, until we know what actually happened we cannot really blame anyone!
