M40 shut & phone call after phone call to me , what do I do ?
My advice , keep going round the r/o it will eventually open , all the ones who get away with murder every day , they might have to do 10 hrs instead of there normal 8:roll_eyes: , how hard is it to look at a map plan a route if you don’t know , I just headed towards Cirencester then cut across to Banbury !! Not hard is it
Apologises if the r/o is stuffed up with our Lorrie’s going round & round & round
Few years back the m62 near brighouse. Was shut .Someone had been shot on the motorway. Was on news all night. On radio every 5 mins. Even had signs up saying so.
Yet fella where I worked at Trafford park. Set off ignored the signs got to road closure was a huge que rang office said motorway is shut . Sat there for hours. Where as other drivers found a way round.
As say not hard to pull over look at a map or use Google.
I once passed a hell of a smash just after Stamford on A1 , you could tell it was going to be shut for hours so rang office & said make the drivers heading down A1 aware of it , as theyl have to use a alternative route , got homing up & there was lorry after lorry of ours pouring down the A1 towards it ,
When I got back I said to bloke in office they must be mad , there going to be sat there all evening , he said bloody hell I knew there was something I needed to remember , he’d not bloody told them !!
I’d rather just get Jon done get home as early as possible.
Don’t get People that drag jobs out just to make a few extra quid.
Ok they might need the money . But personally rather get it done get home
I just came off at J11 and followed the diversion with no issues or hold ups. Amazing how many stated on towards J12 even though the board had all 3 lanes as shut.
Are you on about n/ bound dalesman , it was shut s/ bound 15 - 12 , said no official diversion , I headed down towards Cirencester the 422 to Banbury , I Came down A46 from Coventry
Northbound. Both sides were shut apparently. As I came up to J11 the electronic message board said closed and leave at J11. At the junction was another board with all 3 lanes ahead marked as dead end. Don’t know if they were also taking people off at J12 but quite a few trucks and cars carried on as I came off.
Sorry for late reply but I work mid afternoon to early hours.
M1 and M6 or A41 were generally the default between Birmingham and London.M6 and M1 now unfit for purpose with traffic and variable speed limits.Resulting in more traffic and resulting aggro on M40.Often making that a no go area so use the A roads via Aylesbury.
