There is currently a tempory weight limit in force on the M4 between J1 and J3 in BOTH directions.
It is a 17t weight limit and apparently it has to do with structural damage to the elevated section ( its a bit like the Hammersmith flyover aparently)
it is signposted but not very well at the moment as it only went in over the weekend.
However I cannot find anything about it in the press or higways web sites
as I get more info I will let you know
