Trundeling up the m4 Friday afternoon about 2pm and just past j15 a silver 64 plate merc estate ambles past showing a bit of stocking top,so being a gentleman I give it a toot and a flash of the lights to say thanks,they give me a Thankyou with the indicators and stay infront of me,it then pulls onto the hardshoulder to let me past then pulls out behind me,now Ime thinking is it male or female!!! So it creeps past me showing lots of stocking tops but I can’t see a package so I toot and flash again,it stayed infront and pulled off for the a34,now Ime racked with guilt was it a tv and should I be worried about my ■■■■■■■■■ or was it a female in which case I can sleep well again,anyone else had the pleasure?

They were prob Spaniards on vacation,i recall a flash from truck to car garners a different reaction over there,espesh from the heavy of moustache demographic,if memory serves.

One of the trucks i use at work (1988 Scania) has that i think. When you stop you have to pull a lever next to the handbrake and then turn the ignition key off to remove it.
I thought it was strange but the older boys (Im ‘only’ 28yrs old so was born the same year as the truck) reckon this was normal. Im guessing this is this stop cable thing your describing?.

Fairly sure the last lorry i drove with a stop cable was indeed the 2 or 3 series Scania, so yes sounds right…also note how you won’t be driving the electronic junk they make now in 28 years time… …cos they’re about buggered at 5/7 years.

I find it a good laugh driving some of our old stuff. I get more looks in the old Scania smoking up the road (And in the cab a little 
) then the 1yr old Volvo FH’s.
The first time i used it i could not start it, had to ask someone and the issue was the previous driver had not pushed the lever back in.
