Mr Morley immediately pulled into the hard shoulder.
"I jumped over the barrier
this quote from an Off duty Fireman
So he’s pulled up on the hard shoulder on the opposite carriageway and proceeded to walk across the motorway to the other carriageway.
Bloody fool could have caused more problems in doing that …
Just goes to show how safe modern vehicles are now.

surely they must teach you how to cross the road when training to be a fireman?

I’m hazarding a guess that he ran and found a safe space in traffic that had already slowed to witness the carnage and take pictures for facebook.
Actions of a hero if you ask me and one of the hopefully growing few who will rush to the aid of another without getting the health and safety booklet out.
Also the small matter of that section of the M4 is not the M25 in rush hour…

A few minutes after the first crash, a vehicle towing another one overturned on the westbound carriageway. There were no injuries in this collision.
so a further accident was on the opposite carriageway where Fireman Sam parked his car on the HS … I don’t doubt it was in good intent but Fman Sam’s car is now blocking the HS for emergency vehicles …
You can bet your arse if you did that (parking your truck and crossing over ) you’d have a right old Rollicking
Good point Nick but probably already happened before Fireman Sam went on a jaywalk
The road was temporarily shut between junction 33 Capel Llanilltern and junction 34 Miskin after two accidents on both sides of the motorway.

Would it be the same if it was a passing doctor/nurse/copper?

Quite possibly, seen loads do it, especially truckers. Never condemned any of them. Human nature and want to help kicks in.
Being a bloody fool is what I was reffering to, I think some one who’s working life is spent saving lives, you can’t condone them if they see a situation they are trained to deal with.

FFS! If it worries you - keep driving! Personally, I would be looking to find a safe way to go and help, but perhaps I’m just odd…

Sarge I think you and others have missed the point … he’s stopped on the HS and crossed 3 live lanes … yes he may have help save a life but knowing how dopy drivers are he has put himself and others at risk. and you can guarantee if you parked 44t’s on the HS and did the same you’d be booked for it.
Just another bunch of WKers tailgating again
with all though vehicles Only one vehicles driven can not be at fault
When stuck for days in a traffic jam only to pass the cause of the insident
I always show my sing of respect by honking the air horn and givinging the WK sing
makes them think about what they have done

A car parked well over on the hard shoulder wouldn’t stop the services getting through.
More likely his vehicle would be hit by something.
Now what vehicles are commonly involved in that kind of accident?

From experience, you wouldnt always get booked for doing it.
