M25 parking areas

I called up the muppets at Highways Agency/England to tell them a truck had broken down on the “Not-so Smart stretch” of the M25, they didnt see it on the camera and it was just round a bend, I got onto the subject of flip flops parking under bridges and they said "Its a matter for the police sir. Call 999 and report it to them… :unamused:

I am sure the flow of the Hard Shoulder is down to the wombles, is it not■■?

9970:
so i was running low on driving time and at 4:28 i parked in one of the next to bridge parking areas, no signs or nothing to say i couldn’t and saw many others doing this aswell, 40 mins into my break a bidvest driver came racing past beeping and flashing as if i shouldn’t be there. Thought to myself at first maybe he wanted the area i was in but waited 5 more mins and carried on to find the rest of parking areas all empty.

so question is really are we allowed to use these or are they just for “select” firms?

Two words : hard shoulder [emoji85]

They’re for select firms mate. You need a permit. A bit like LLC, London Lorry Control permits. Just ring up the highways agency and ask for a permit that allows you to break the highway code. You can also use it for driving in the outside lane and watching ■■■■ on your laptop. But not watching ■■■■ in the outside lane, that would be silly.

foreign registered vehicles do it because its allowed in their countries, and seeing as most motorways look the same use the english hard shoulders too. The advantage of being able to speak a foreign language aids their right to park wherever they want, same as in france on the entrances and exits to service stations ( also deemed part of the highway ) but its tolerated because of the shortage of parking places, also used because of huge delays due to roadworks or traffic accidents. Now when and if the highways agency bods decide to investigate, they are met with a driver who ( pretends ) he cannot understand, and the H/A not being able to understand either, so its deadlock…but they can call their superviser, who in turn can call a translator, and by the time one arrives, the truck has duly taken his 45, and moved on…and i know because i am one as well, please not though that i can and do park in the services areas for my daily rest, and my nightly rest FOC…so having foreign plates gives lots of advantages…instead of cursing us foreigners…join us…as paying for parking has always been one of my pet hates in the uk.
PS. i dont wear flip flops.

There was a Tesco motor under one yesterday on the M25. Not saying he was or wasn’t of British Nationality, but still shouldn’t have been there. If UK drivers can’t do it, why can they get away with it? I’m completely legal, passed my tests, didn’t buy a licence online etc etc etc
