More and more, this short stretch between the Darenth junction 2 and the Dartford crossing - accidents abound, especially involving trucks.
You’d think the traffic might have edged off a bit during this latter “faux lockdown” we seem to be not in at the moment…
It can only get worse building up to Christmas though, especially if some of our own number are working under a “rush rush” culture, or private cars trying to get to places like Bluewater and Lakeside for their Christmas shopping.
Be careful out there people - others are clearly not taking anywhere near enough care.

I’d put the “hotspots” for in-running collisions as being the bit where the (clockwise) M25 divides approach J2 for the off-slip to the Coastbound A2, and on the other carriageway - where the two lanes divide for the two seperate tunnel bores.
How many times have we all seen people change lanes at the very last moment, cutting up an artic in the process?
All I saw this morning at 0530, was two waste compactors, 1 into the other, and a van had slammed a car.
Its London, pretty much standard from the quality of driving down there suggests it should happen much more often. Might be simply because it goes quite slow so most accidents are limited in scope.
and some of the flip flops diving into right hand tunnel lane at last minute surprised no has been killed there yet.u think with all the cameras. u think they be ready to chase anyone down jumping at last minute in lanes causing accidents or near accidents.
The southbound side seems to be making an attempt to compete with the northbound side, bad accident just after J29 this morning not looking to re-open until 10.30 container lorry has hit a bridge and gone up in flames
Always the right hand tunnel for me get in lane good and early and stay aware of last minute heroes deciding they dont want to wait for the haz convoy to clear the left tunnel and reopen there always seems to be more traffic going for the left hand side i presume its all coming from dartford /erith etc . also it always amazes me that drivers just dont have the confidence to drive at a "normal " speed while in the tunnel ok its an enclosed space but and can be intimidating but after a few journeys it becomes mundane by the way its one of the very few places that i use the auto braking on the mercedes as it can get unpredictable even at a safe distance coming over the bridge has its joys as well slowing traffic getting caught out by the slope on the dartford side which we all know is power sapping, drivers not knowing where they are going indicating for the old A2 junction then reslising its better to go a bit further on , it can and it does get confusing for drivers who are not used to it and are glued to their sat nav ( which is no excuse )
