M11 Police Truck

well there i was driving up the M11 when a police unit goes past me with the passenger doing an impression of a giraffe craning his neck to look at me anyway he looked then sped off a min later a motorbike cop passes me pulls in then goes off again but he moved in and cut my distance right back making me ease off to open a gap which i was surprised about him being a police trained driver but it ocured to me if they see something ,do they stop you st8 away on hard shoulder or make you follow them somewhere suitable i have noticed vosa do the same pull in then speed off with out any regard to stoping distances thoughts ? i guess the moterbike is following the truck to assist in a stop

I got pulled on to Hilton Park last year I think it was.
A car following their truck, pulled me and made me follow him in to the sevices.
Apparentlly the nosey 2at in the passenger seat of the truck glowering at me through a camera while I was doing my job, did not appreciate me giving him the fingers and mouthing the words ‘■■■■ off.’ at him.

Of course you were pulled! You were instantly profiled as an indigenous taxpayer, if you’d been towing a caravan with the door on the wrong side using your Toyota hi lux with “landscape gardening, tree felling, drives payed” emblazoned down the side of it you’d have been overtaken and forgotten about. God forbid they might meet some resistance ffs! :imp:

I hear the Police are getting a pay rise. Well deserved I say especially with recent events in the UK.

    That describes a fair few people from where I used to live. . . Right down to the landscape gardening and tree felling.

You just made my night thank you very much

I got pulled on to Hilton Park last year I think it was. A car following their truck pulled me and made me follow him into the services. Hah did you get a warning or a ticket for that?

Nah got a verbal warningI  , I’d glanced for all of 2 seconds at my notebook, thought that’s why he pulled me, but he didn’t seem too bothered about that (the copper in the car).
The big ■■■■ in the truck really wanted a piece of me  for telling him to f.off, or mouthing it anyway, I just told him I objected to somebody pointing a ■■■■ camera in my face when all I was doing was doing my job.

It all blew over after he told me that the sort of attitude I displayed caused road rage, :unamused: …I thought why tf bother arguing so I just sat in back of car and let him prattle on, and went on my way.

Yep deffo well deserved, look how they are beating the crime figures, all dramatically down, and how they are using their ‘limited resources’ to full potential.
Worth every penny, especially the pc higher echelons of the Police concentrating on crucial issues like BLM protests, observing the vandalism, and arresting those who think it’s wrong, and issues involving the non binary community and the like.
Well deserved as you say Jake. :sunglasses:

Funny how you see these police cabs about on the motorways, always on the move - but never pulling someone over even in the services, let alone for the one decent reason they might have been able to catch people at - “On their non-hands free phone at the wheel”… :unamused:

Public order offence he should have fined you or summoned you to court for it. Oh and by the ■■■■ in the front seat I assume you mean the bloke doing his job? The bloke looking for drivers who are actually on their phone etc who could cause a fatal A34 style accident. What’s if it’s yours family that driver on his phone ploughs into the back of? That ■■■■ in the front seat is trying to prevent that. Then when that type of accident happens you’d be saying where were the police taking preventative measures to stop it.

Shame they can’t also put some additional funding in to traffic patrols.

Dickynick:

You cannot commit s.5 PO offense if it is directed at a Police Officer, that is s.4a, unless it is racially motivated it only then becomes a crime.

But then with the Police and VOSA it is all about respect and attitude! upset a waitress they spit in your food! Upset a loader, they keep you there till last. Upset a Copper they can and will find something to fine you for very easily! Just respect they have a job to do, apologize when your wrong and walk away from it. Believe it or not, Traffic Cops (Rats) are real people too! :unamused:  not sure about those VOSA types.

Millions in public funding cuts were put in place to replace the billions that was lost under Labour’s reign. Labour spends, Conservatives save (themselves mainly).

Trust me mate, no harm came to any kittens or fluffy bunnies on that day …and I wasn’t on me phone either, so cut the dramatics.

Was you not whining a while back how your wife was a passenger in a car with an incompetent driver hanging out in lane two causing issues then you came on here crying and didn’t like the response… pot calling kettle

Yes it’s a real shame they can’t put more into traffic patrols especially with the number of incompetents on the roads these days. They would love to get back on the roads but as has been said one of the reasons were the public funding cuts by one of the worst government parties. :unamused:

I heard recently from a driver who got pulled over and received a verbal warning because he smiled and waved at the guy with the camera.
Somewhere there’s probably a driver who got a verbal for rolling his eyes at them…

Meanwhile there’s umpteen car drivers every day on their mobile phones who aren’t getting done :unamused:

Believe it or not Jake I DO agree with you.
One of the reasons I ain’t the Police’s no1 fan is their bleating on all the ■■■■ time about their famous ‘limited resources’, but they seems to be no problem when they have their ‘purges’, there are coppers every ■■■■ where on those occasions…but always on easy targets, always a situation to raise fines, then the real issues that everybody wants sorted truck crime for one, are ‘‘sorted’’ by a ■■■■ crime number.

I remember not so long ago when Police patrol cars were plentiful,.don’t know if I’m looking through rose coloured gregorys here either, , but as far as I remember there was more of a type of mutual respect between copper and trucker, you got pulled, got a verbal and were sent on your way 9 times out of 10 (for relatively small matters,)…there was a kind of unwritten rule/understanding you would not get nicked up to 50 mph on a relatively safe 40mph main road, nowadays the odd copper you are lucky (or unlucky) to see is like a 70s Jim Davidson comedy routine with his ‘Nickometer’…nick nick nick for trivial and easy target offences, and 90% of policing is done by camera …that equals…zero deterrent for knob heads, that equals more crap driving on motorways.
More Police traffic patrol Range Rovers with fair minded coppers a la 70s/80s doing a visual presence, and keeping knobheads on their toes…no argument from me mate.
