My God, the traffic today was awful. Stop start stop start all the way from Barnsley to J28 (where I turned off luckily)
Cause of the delays? Bugger all, no accidents, no broken down vehicles. Just endless car driving a-holes, constantly braking for no reason. The overhead matrix signs didnt help either, constantly changing, and whenever they dropped to 50, almost every car braked to 40.
Looking at the car occupants, 95% were families or old couples. Probably the reason for the constant coming to a standstill!
Thank god northbound was ok on my way back. 
This is why I avoid going anywhere by road unless I absolutely have to through the Xmas period, Easter weekend, and the summer bank holidays. At least commuters have a better of understanding of how to drive on the motorways as they do it every day.
Traffic always goes stupid in december. The last week before christmas is a nightmare. The motorways are filled with people who have no experience of them. No wonder theres so many accidents at this time of year. Roll on january and a little bit of normality on the roads.
There’s only one reason why they keep on braking. Too close to the vehicle in front and probably too fast as well. It’s known as the domino effect.
Just normal everyday driving in the UK. 
And it ain’t just car drivers that are guilty of this poor driving.
