Traffic on the A38 in Derbyshire is very heavy following the overnight closure of the M1.
The southbound carriageway of the motorway was closed from 11.50pm last night to 6am this morning between junctions 26 at Nuthall and Junction 25 at Long Eaton after a woman fell from a bridge and died.
Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
A diversion was in place through the western part of Nottingham and police say traffic remains very heavy this morning.
