M1 - Nightmare way to go

The police are using several bags to collect this individual, with screens going up everywhere like after an air crash. :frowning:

Twitter feeds suggest that there is foul play involved.
No further confirmations from the police yet.

FFS though. What IS going on? :frowning:

A lot of us will be familiar with this stretch of the M1 with it’s railway line alongside, and chevrons…

It’s still very sad though. RIP. :frowning:

Doesn’t say that in op’s link… ■■

Q. Looking at the aerial view in the article, why isn’t there any junctions between 16-17, seems like a long road, with a major city/town to the west. or is their 16a/b etc etc.

I’ve never been that far south on the M1

Edit, nvm just looked on google maps, more or less same as m6 17-16

Possibly a suicide

No bridges or other roads that near so access wouldn’t be overly easy, possibly thrown out of a moving vehicle ?

more like under a lorry and lost his grip its a long way from dover

Been named…not an immigrant…from london northamptonchron.co.uk/news/ … -1-7766504

“Roadside roadcrews saying body was thrown out of a moving vehicle” suggesting foul play indeed.

Surely this guy having a Brit name would suggest he had no reason to be “hiding under the lorry” as some have suggested in the newspaper articles…

The police are asking for any dashcam footage that might throw some light onto this sad case. :frowning:

He could of just jumped out of a moving vehicle on his own accord, not unheard of.

There are rumours, unsubstantiated, that he crashed earlier on the M1 and ran off, possibly drunk and drugged. Also may be connected with a killing elsewhere. Perhaps not so much sympathy?? As I say, only hearsay.

It’s rather odd that they’ve named this guy, apparently from Shepard’s Bush, London… The family don’t seem to want to know… He doesn’t seem to be an immigrant… But we don’t know what ethnicity he was… Put it all together, and the police have got a nightmare trying to establish what happened at all! :open_mouth:

I can only assume that those road users who ran over the carcass - thought it was a badger or fox, and kept going for that reason. :frowning:
The first one probably realized what they’d just hit - but that first one didn’t stop.

A grown man is a lot bigger than a fox or badger though so you would feel a fair bump I’d have thought on contact especially at motorway speed.

Although “Motorway speed” has been artificially cut to 50mph on that stretch for some months now…

I think the first blow may have been a wagon.
We don’t know if anyone has come forward to say if they did or to provide footage from dash cam.

This world is going crazy and for people like us who are just earning for our love ones and our self’s and the people in cars minding there business to get caught up in whatever has gone on is also just crazy.
