Serious accident on the M! J28 - J29, N/B closed, according to traffic England anticipated reopening around lunchtime.
I drove south past the scene at 06:30, it looked like the cops had just arrived.
I’ve somehow got to figure a way around it for my return trip from Wolverhampton.
Edit: looks like my best option is M54, M6, M42 then A453 to Nottingham and A52,A46 & A1
Looks like Jack was stopped in a live lane. Car straight into the back.
Not so smart motorway again
So the same stretch of motorway which was condemned other week due to the amount of deaths because of no hard shoulder

It happened at 04:00, RIP to all concerned. These smart motorways are not very smart.
Whole area was covered in police and ambulances by 5am with more arriving still including a specialist fire service rescue engine.
Even then the M1 was backing up badly and I know by 6 it was down to J27 on Google maps.
Did wonder why the 4x4 was up the side of the trailer, but if Jack Richards had stopped it would explain it.
The matrix signs were showing 1 lane closed before that point even after it was closed - not sure if that was due to the accident or if some muppet ignored the signs for a broken down truck.
M1 south J20 was not good today, closed from around 7am till around 2pm, went northbound around 6.45 this morning, artic and a van on the hard shoulder with a BMW around 50 yards behind, drivers door wrapped around against the front wing, no door card, someone laid on the hard shoulder around 30 yards in front with someone knelt down with them on the phone.
