Well said toonsy.

This is the same or worse than the daily mail lot moaning when a truck driver dies.

I suggest you try reading the whole thread before jumping on the band wagon.

If you had read the whole thread you would see I had ready stated for whatever reason someone wasn’t going home regardless of the circumstances.

I’m not bothered that much by being inconvenienced it’s more a case of why they feel it necessary to shut a main motorway for 9 hours or so causing a massive loss to the economy and industry in the resulting chaos it causes.

As I said it seems the police knew she was suicidal or likely to be suicidal therfore suicide is likely what happened in this case.

But it will have cost a heck of a lot of money to just say yes that’s what happened. When for example the police and or mental health services could have done more to prevent this happening.

As always the police often don’t like using cells for people who are suicidal or a danger to themselves, and greeting someone sectioned is always down to no beds available etc.

It’s not a complaint post it was purely an update as to the outcome and to prpmpt a dicussion on it.

Which Toonsy has done very well and makes some interesting points, whereas your post adds nothing of use or constructive to the discussion.

We need to get a ■■■■■■■ grip in this country. ■■■■■■■■■ clearing up after other ■■■■■■■■■ do something stupid, whether willfully or not.

All the traffic cones and investigations in the world ain’t gonna bring them back, so why ■■■■ up thousands of people’s lives for hours, ■■■■■■■ around with “evidence” that will one day be landfilled anyway?

All this is, is arse-covering crap, pandering to lawyers and insurance companies.

Pull the wreckage off the road and get on with your lives FFS. Before you ask, no, I wouldn’t want an investigation into what happened, if it was a member of my family/friend/me. I couldn’t care ■■■■■■■ less, it ain’t gonna bring them back and no amount of money will replace them, so stick your anbulance chasing up yer ■■■■■■■ hole.

It’s a hard old world out there, people die when speed, weight and impacts combine. We all know that, we’re all in a position (literally) every day, where all of these things could kill us. We chose to do it.

So ■■■■■■■ what.

Maybe a tad harsh of an opinion but your opinion nonetheless of which your entitled to have.

There are certainly times when they close roads for next to nothing but others it has to be done.

We just don’t know all the reasons why things are done the way they are sometimes or even most of the time.

I don’t think it sounds harsh at all, I’m just giving my honest opinion.

Honestly mate, I’m not trying to be smart, I want to know why you think we know not what they do. I know lots of people who would agree with you and none of them can give me a good reason to trust those that set the signs or “traffic management” on our roads every day of the week.

Why should any of us trust them? I’ve seen road gangs do unbelievably stupid things, why should I trust them?

I am reminded of the fairly recent case where a bloke was found dead in his garden. The first Police on the scene were quick to take the guidance of the paramedics who opined that his death was a result of the very recent heart surgery he had undergone and dealt with it as a routine “sudden death”. It was only during the Post Mortem that it was discovered he had been shot…
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
i wonder if the paramedic went for an eye test after deciding after the dudes been shot,he never saw the hole,or blood, to come up with a heart atack?
you would think that someone fresh from the stevie wonder paramedic training academy could have worked that one out.

I think that’s possibly 2 separate things really.

Highways agency are generally rubbish at clearing accidents or seem to be and as for signs being used correctly and efficiently well I can’t really argue on that point either.

I would think the decision to close roads comes from the police so they can do their job and collect all the evidence and do the investigation work.

Why in this day & age with all the computer tech we have do they still have to close the road for so long yep understand they need all the facts etc ( good mate of mine is a retired police traffic inspector ) but really for so long there should be more tech used for this now then down load sort out back on computers back at station close roads but just not as long that all I think

Yep I have had family members killed in RTA but it didn’t bring them back or adjust my thinking if it is me hope they don’t close the road for so long open asap or part of they have screens now put up get traffic moving don’t put signs on opposite carriage way to say slow down either they can just keep moving nowt to see ( spoke to both my kids on this subject & they think same )

Know 1 of our drivers got caught up in this which then cost boss money due to load arriving late then next load being cancelled due to not being tipped etc ( I know so what to lost but a small company can only take so much ) just saying there can be a big knock on effect to 1 incident

They use laser beams & allsorts. Seriously, educating yourself on what they do, how they do it & WHY they do it might help to sort out a lot of your frustrations. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14092232

You had family members killed in an RTA & you hoped they didn’t close the road for too long?

What we really need is for the 1st party’s insurance to be held liable for any & all incidental losses, this is to include the costs involved with anyone & anything delayed by the incident. We need to get this idea across to the grown ups as I don’t fink they fort of it already.
