I heard he shot his missus then jumped off a bridge.

If that’s the case if any vehicle hit him I hope the driver is OK. Not something you’d want to relive.

if thats the case it could always be worse…luckily it wasnt dipper dave or he might have shot the bridge and jumped his misses…

it says on the news,30 mins after topping her,and stabbing someone else,he was in a collision southbound at trowell…horrible for the truckie if he was a jumper though.nobody needs that stuff.

A vehicle hit him alright.
My mate was in the trapped traffic they let through…northbound.
Body sized dent on the front of the unit, and the corpse lying on the road.

What ya saying a tractor unit smacked him?? No trailer??

Don’t know about a trailer,but yes…he was struck by a tractor unit.
Just above the windscreen.

■■■■■■■ hell hope matey gets back behind the wheel eventually… not something you can easily put to the back of ya mind.

Left Askern 10.30am, got 200 yds from scene 10 to 12 noon sat 4 hours then they turned us round, came off at 26, took another 3 hours to get back near B/ham airport 7.00pm.

He tried to run in front of a tanker (container type) on the northbound, when that failed he ran on to the bridge and jumped on to the southbound, hit by one of Nisa lorries, can’t understand why they wouldn’t let us run through the services though, they said it was a crime scene.

If he stabbed his missus elsewhere, thats where the crime scene is…elsewhere, NOT the M1, would take 20 mins to scrape him up, get details off the driver and re open the road…yet more unnecessary UK ballcocks causing mayhem and chaos to everyones working day

bag him and tag him, measure the skiddies,do some pics and a quick cleanup…even for the uk plod surely 2 hours would be kicking the ■■■ out of it…and itl be a bigger crime scene here when tncsi wake up in the morning…

Terrible situation. However all the inconvenience caused pails into insignificance compared to the driver of the truck that hit him.
My brother neighbour was a train driver down south and had someone commit suicide jumping in front of his train. He could not cope with the flashbacks etc, he never drove a train again.
He eventually moved away from down south up to the Midlands, he trained to be a truck driver instead, the poor guy had exactly the same thing happen but this time in a truck on the motorway.
He wasn’t able to get in a truck again after that, during all this his wife left him, he had to sell his house and had to start from scratch, he was on antidepressants and constantly in therapy because of it.
All of that due to two inconsiderate ■■■■■■■■■ who jumped in front of him.
To have it happen once is bad enough twice is just shocking beyond belief.
My thoughts are with the driver involved and their family.

Excellent approach - Until post mortem examination of the remains reveals he was actually killed by a stab wound, or witnesses who drove past later call in to say they saw two blokes fighting on the hard shoulder a little while before he “jumped” and it turns out he didn’t kill his missus but died after fighting with the bloke(s) who did (one of the rather obvious problems with murder enquiries is that the victim(s) are in no position to simply explain to you what happened).

So then you’ve got a crime scene through which several thousand vehicles have driven, and you haven’t searched it thoroughly…
