M1 closed bad accident

Basit Nasir, who saw what happened, told the Evening Standard he was overtaken at 140mph.

Does that mean he guessed the speed the vehicle overtook him, or was he doing 140mph and got overtaken?

I assume he guessed, but witnesses are notoriously bad at judging the speed of other road users and the media love to pick up on the most dramatic headline, despite it’s lack of accuracy.

Just glad they took no innocents with them.
No RIP, they deserved to die, especially as they were risking the lives of those unknown to themselves, a greater level of selfishness is hard to achieve.
Glad they are dead quite honestly.

Harsh, very harsh :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

But true.

Harsh but that is exactly my thoughts when i hear about these sort of accidents
same when you hear of young drivers speeding round bends sliding off and hitting trees, in some ways at least they won’t be able to hurt anyone els by doing the same thing in the future. With this i mean the ones who are driving recklesly not the ones that just have a minor hickup and by no means all the offenders just some

Their driving a car FFS. Everyone has a moment of madness, a rush of blood or a bit of a lead foot moment on a open road but this doesn’t mean you deserve to die!!

Show me a human who has never had a play with his friends in a car as a youth and i’ll show you a blatant liar

agree with you there, some very brutal comments elsewhere, not me .RIP.

two less idiots on the roads.no sympathy from me!

Funny how you never get these kinds of comments when a truck driver die’s…

Someone mentioned hire cars, one at least I beleieve was a Seven Series, another again was a top end Merc that didn’t actually crash I understand.

I didn’t think you could really hire high end cars like that? There was a group
of them, who fought after the crash, so they’re not some bunch of young scrotes as no hire company would hire such cars to such people, nor do they sound like businessmen/finance people etc who can usually afford to buy cars like this

Be interesting to see who the people were. I’m definately no racist (believe me!) but I did wonder if they might be Asian… We will see.

To be honest you can hire almost anything high class and expensive, Cars, Boats, Planes and Women.
And i know some people who reckon it’s by far the best way and far less trouble.

i notice the daily mail page has been updated quote “The men involved are understood to be from the Bangladeshi or Pakistani community in east London.”

The people who thought they might be Asian’s appear to have been correct! Some stereotypes are true!

Do not think they deserved to die, feel sorry for any witnesses and emergency crews etc

Note from the pics in the papers that the road is wet. I hit 145 mph in Germany a few years ago in a 2.5v6 vectra, scary stuff but the adrenalin rush is there, but when u pass the trucks doing 90mph faster you realise the danger of the situation, looks like these guys may have just got carried away, good job nobody innocent was injured or worse. The fact that they got out of the wrecks and started fighting is unbelievable in itself.

A year ago I was coming out of Rochdale. There was a convoy of 20 or high powered cars all driven by Asians. They stopped on the hard shoulder of the a627m with some of them stopping inthe inside lane to talk to their compadre’s, it was all men dressed up to the 9’s in what I can only say were pastel coloured pyjamas. They pAssed me and I followed them through Oldham and onto the a62 heading for Manchester. One of the took off in his Amg merc racing his mate. He cut onto the inside to pass him. I’m watching this and could see a car further ahead turning left into a side street that was blocked by another car coming out, I could see what was happening in slow motion. To this day I don’t know how the idiot missed the car. He must have hit 80 and then realised the car in front of him had stopped as he was watching his mate race him. The back end of the Amg must have went through the most amazing force as it swerved around the car. They then all pulled up laughing about it until they got the horn and the hand signs front me as I passed them again.

Here you are you can hire anything you like, this company is run by a gang of lads whose first language is not quite English :stuck_out_tongue:

no sympathy for them. last time i read about a similiar story (2 x bmws racing) it was a trucker who died after one of the bmws crashed into his truck and it rolled over, presumably as the truck driver tried to avoid killing the bmw driver

Let evolution do it’s job for once. No innocent bystanders got killed for a change, so I’m inclined to take the “They had it coming” line myself.

If someone gets themselves killed whilst performing a criminal act that also endangers innocent third parties, then it’s real hard to have any sympathy. :imp:

So when some Asians die in some BMWs, it’s okay to say “no sympathy from me” and “I’m glad they died” because they were being reckless and driving excessively fast.

Yet when a fellow trucker dies because he was being reckless by texting/cooking breakfast/watching a film, it’s all “RIP” and “it’s so sad”, even if he takes out a load of innocents with him as well.

I suggest you find your nearest dictionary* and look up double standards.
