Anyone else see the M&S (Possibly DHL) double decker on fire northbound on the A9 last night just south of Sherriffmuir?
Looks like a brake was binding and eventually set fire to the trailer.
I was sat behind it on the way up and could smell the linings burning. He pulled over into a lay-bye in a cloud of smoke.
On my way back down he had the fire brigade in attendance and the police. Looked like the whole trailer was up at a passing glance.

There were two Gist artics doing a load swap on the n/bound side yesterday (Saturday early afternoon). Trays out, pallet truck the lot. Probably explains it. On my return south IIRC there was a tow truck hooked up to the front vehicle.
The driver is ok - thanks for asking .
As to the rest of it - a trailer load and unit are all insured .
Let the CSI TNet experts sort the rest of it out .

you will be safe if you do what I say go and sit on bank and let the professionals deal with it , which is unlike 99.9% of the wanabee drifiremen who think you should grab a fire extinguisher and attempt to do what the professionals say you shouldn’t
, anyway glad he’s ok
not a pretty sight is it ?
Give it a few months and it will be just like new - you’ll never know it happened .

Doze - if you have time pull the pin and hope you get far enough away before your air drops . no point messing about with legs and airlines . If you can pull the lines off fair enough but don’t be messing with the legs or putting yourself at risk- a set of mudguards and lights are cheaper than a unit . At least you have somewhere to sit while your waiting for the Fire Brigade / Police / HATO’s to turn up.
