hi , returned to work on Friday (Trafford park),to find that we had lost the contract I have worked on for many years,devastated to say the least, to this company from Scotland, M & H logistics Glasgow.
Does anyone have knowledge of them ? As within a few weeks they will be my new employers,
There is a similar sounding company M & H carriers of Dundee, to save confusion.
The Tupe process will commence next week, with interviews etc, but some background information on the company would be very welcome, many thanks …

What is TUPE?
TUPE refers to the “Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006” as amended by the “Collective Redundancies and Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) (Amendment) Regulations 2014”. The TUPE rules apply to organisations of all sizes and protect employees’ rights when the organisation or service they work for transfers to a new employer.
TUPE has impacts for the employer who is making the transfer (also known as the outgoing employer or the transferor) and the employer who is taking on the transfer (also known as the incoming employer, the ‘new employer’ or the transferee).

On 31 January 2014, regulations on TUPE came into effect updating the 2006 regulations. Acas has produced a leaflet to help employers better understand what the changes mean and how they may affect their business.

This company is playing with fire,the directors have borrowed 330k from the company,the sum increased by 60k, (verify on beta companies house)they have bank borrowings of 900k and they rent there fleet(1.5m due in payments).
Can you give us a clue who has lost the job in Trafford Park?

They’ve a reputation for running drivers ragged and paying peanuts. Certainly that is the consensus when anyone asks about them on the Scottish driving jobs group on Facebook. Regularly advertise class 1 jobs up here for £24k a year salaried.
All i will say walk if you have the chance they can’t keep drivers in scotland at all.The whole fleet is on hire and they will use all your hours everyday you will be run ragged.
Yes,there seems to be a picture developing here,at least my terms are fixed under the Tupe rules ! For now !
