My hubby is a driver. Like him, you may be familiar with Lymm Truckwash at the M6/M56 Poplar 2000 services.
It has recently been brought to my intention that member/s of the Cardwell family, who own and run Lymm Truckwash are involved in The Cheshire Hunt foxhunting group, and a member/members were recently seen and filmed involved in an illegal foxcub hunt. Laura Cardwell is currently one of the ‘huntmasters’ of The Cheshire Hunt.
Foxhunting itself, as you may know, is illegal in this country but continues away from prying eyes, and The Cheshire Hunt still actively hunt and kill foxes from August through to March/April.
FoxCUB hunting is even worse, and the hunt’s dirtiest secret, as they trap, terrorise and kill baby foxes early in the morning as a way of training young hounds to kill (it doesn’t come naturally). They use many horrible means of dong this.
Because the authorities allow these activities to carry on, and those involved appear to be above the law, the best approach is to hit it where the hunters hurt - in their pockets. The Cardwell family consider themselves part of the ‘social elite’ and can often be found hobnobbing with various toffs around Cheshire.
I would like to ask any of you who regularly pass through this area to please avoid using Lymm Truckwash.
I hear they do a rubbish job anyway
Thanks for reading this - and I’d appreciate it if you could spread the word.
I’m glad they do hunt foxes. They’re vermin, why’d you think you see more foxes these days? It’s because the fair trade lentil munching yoghurt knitters have got their way. I’m not a fan of pompous country hobbies but it kills vermin, provides jobs and gives people a hobby so carry on.
Anyway post your animal rights crap on Mumsnet not Trucknet.
Your welcome.
Get your facts right love, fox hunting is NOT illegal and is still allowed with certain conditions.
If this family wish to dress up and charge around on Dobbin they are not doing me or you any harm and are carrying on traditions that make this country unique.
Bet your hubby loves being told where and when he cannot take his breaks.
I`ll be at Lymm Sunday night if that’s O.K. with you.

This, along with their hunting activities, are paid for by this business; FYI simply being a member of The Cheshire Hunt costs a member £1800 per year.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I truly am shocked…I thought “toffs” died out in the twenties. Glad to see people are still hobnobbing too although I’m more of a digestive man myself.
The only real problem you have left me with after reading your rubbish is this…
Do I spend more money at the wash or do I save it and spend my £1800 on a new hobby? I just don’t know?
I thought this was trucknet ffs, no offence jaq, but ■■■■ off back to the woods.
As a member of the Cheshire Hunt I’m disgusted that this thread has appeared.
I’m a close friend of the Cardwell family as well and trying to destroy one of their business’s is shocking.
I can confirm they have an exemption, well so I’m told anyway.
Jaq you wouldn’t be Jacqueline by any chance who was recently denied membership.

Fair enough, I can see this might not have been the best place to post, but someone actually told me I’d be surprised by how kind truckers actually are and suggested I should post here!!
Although I’m sure some of you are.
I can’t delete the thread myself, maybe one of the admins could oblige. Thank you.

Hilarious. Please enlighten us as to what this supposed ‘exemption’ is.
And if you are a member of the Cheshire Hunt - which as a trucker you probably aren’t, as they wouldn’t p*ss on you if you were on fire (although they’ll probably accept anyone these days, they are getting desperate) - I’m disgusted that you are even addressing me.

Oh but it’s ok for you to come here, uninvited, and address members, pushing your naive opinion on people?
The Chesire Hunt would be glad to have me amongst their ranks, I’ve splattered 7 foxes since February.
Do everyone a favour, Jaq and quietly leave. You’ll end up looking a bit silly.

Yep hell hath no fury than a rejected member, confirms my suspicions your the recent rejection.
Don’t be disgusted, just a discussion.
I have a question though, why hasn’t your husband come along to discuss this.
Dipper ■■
If I may slip in that I do think your being given a rough ride on this subject, not quite as rough as the horse Laura lent me last month though.
Bloody thing chucked me off.
Townie turns up preaching and doesn’t get the reaction they wanted.
Dipper Dave turns out to be a hobnobber.
Could this ■■■■ all over the other attempts at thread of the year?
It seems like only a couple of years ago that the Animal Rights Mentalists were throwing bricks at the windscreens of the Livestock Export lorries heading for Ramsgate.
I don’t personally use Lymm Truckwash, but like many other Lorry Drivers, and not just here on Trucknet, I DO HAVE A GOOD MEMORY !
