Ltd Co expense claims

What do you guys who run as a Ltd Co typically claim ?

I would have thought legit expenses (without receipt) would include:

Motor and travel expenses
Bank charges
Subscriptions
Tools
Work clothes

And what can be claimed against “Accommodation and subsistence” in the form of nights out + meal allowance ?

According to the RHA we’re looking at £22.39 for nights out?

But how much for meals ?

"However, HMRC have long accepted reasonable claims for the cost of evening meals and breakfast taken in conjunction with overnight accommodation if the cost of the accommodation would otherwise be allowable as an expense in carrying on the trade or profession. This practice has received the approval of the Courts.

Long distance self-employed lorry drivers have therefore been able to claim a deduction for the reasonable cost of meals taken in conjunction with overnight accommodation.

HMRC have been asked whether this treatment can be extended to such drivers who spend the night in their cabs rather than take overnight accommodation and have confirmed that it can."

Any other things I should be claiming for ?

For what it’s worth …
I’m asked to provide receipts for everything except
motoring expenses, then I get mileage allowance …

Motor and travel expenses you have receipts for fuel and servicing. Road tax and insurance costs are easily proved and you accountant should be claiming an amount for depreciation of the vehicle, which is a practice acceptable to the revenue.

Bank charges would be detailed on your bank statement, which would be proof enough. Subscriptions would show up as either a Direct Debit or some other charge on your business account so again as good as a receipt.

Tools and work clothes you would surely have receipts for unless you are buying them from some dodgy geezer with a suitcase full of such items. :wink: :stuck_out_tongue:
