Here you go peeps, although most of you may be retired by the time it is ‘tunnelled’
Why come out at Tilbury, theres enough traffic at the A13 junction as it is, or they can vastly improve that junction and upgrade the A13 to motorway standards. Tilbury is ok if you work there, but the majority of traffic heading over the Dartford crossing is going northwards…should have done it years ago…before they even built the bridge, then maybe they could have built two at the same time, that was and still is the only solution in my opinion.

The preferred route is for the M2 to link with the M25 via a tunnel that enters and exits at Tilbury and Gravesend. All new roads no need to use the A13 unless your destination is along the A13

Dose this mean they are thinking about building 2 new tunnels or just one.One at Silvertown and one at Gravesend/
The routes shown in the local rag or Kent online said the preferred route ran from higham to the east of gravesend across to Tilbury and joined the m25 at the A12 junction using the 130 to cross to a12

As soon as it is built the financial vultures will be hovering, insisting that the country’s entire economic future depends on their being able to build massive industrial estates and yet more distribution centres right alongside the entire route. The reality being naturally that they have seen another opportunity to line the back sky rocket.
Not sure how that’s going to work, given that there’s no mention of a link to the M20, which means everyone needing to get to it will go down the A229 (a dual carriageway, but linked to the M2 only by a really overcomplicated junction with two roundabouts). The traffic will be a nightmare unless they intend to massively upgrade that junction, or think that only traffic going to north Kent will use the new link and that traffic for south Kent will use the existing bridge (which I’m sure they don’t, given the money this thing will take to build).
Well i live in kent and not to far from the proposed route , lets be honest wherever the route takes its not going to be popular .But the fact remains its necessary with all the planed development in and around ebbsfleet the crossings is going to get worse we have needed this extra crossing for years so i for one would support it lets get it built we cant carry on the way we are can we
